Post Frame Construction

At Gateway Building Systems, you can be confident in knowing that you will always receive quality service provided by a reliable, experienced team.

We are now offering post frame construction! Post framing is a highly engineered wood-framed building technique that can be built with a variety of exteriors.

A post-frame building blends superior efficiency, flexibility and strength and has paved the path for it to become a trusted method throughout the construction industry and well a more affordable option as opposed to steel frames.

A post-frame building brings many advantages to a customer, as the design of the structure allows for clear spans up to nearly 80 feet, maximum efficiency, limited maintenance, speedy construction, and lower construction costs.

What Sets Us Apart

We are proud to add another specialty to our long list of services. With Gateway, you can trust that you’re receiving the best quality and the best people fit for the job. We pride ourselves on how hard we work so that you don’t have to worry about the little details.

Unlike commercial steel buildings, we also offer post-frame construction, a highly engineered wood-frame building system that features laminated posts with an SPF 2 or better, instead of wood studs or steel framing. Our custom floor plans allow you to utilize your building in the best way for your business, while our robust trusses are overdesigned for extra collateral and snow loads. This allows for a quicker turnaround, a more affordable rate, without having to sacrifice quality.

  • Neoprene washer screws to prevent loose screws & water leaks.
  • Laminated posts.
  • Manufacture buildings up to 80’ wide.
  • Post spacing: 8’, 10’, or 12’ on 4’ or 6’ center trusses.
  • Direct fastening trusses directly to the barring post.
  • We do not use header boards.
  • All our lumber is SPF 2 or better.
  • 60 barrel grade lumber or better.

Build Time

We can build all year-round. Yes, you read that right. We can build year-round as long as we are able to complete setting the foundation and getting all posts set prior to the ground freezing. If it’s not possible to get the posts in prior to low temps setting in, then we will have to wait until the spring to start the project.

Meet Mike

Mike is our post frame building specialist. He started his career in buildings when he was just 15 years old on a concrete crew for a local steel building company. After college, Mike went to work full time running crews as the lead foreman. By 2000, Mike started his own company based out of West Fargo until 2012. After years of running his own business, he decided he wanted to get back to what he loved most, managing the construction crews, and building with the team. It was time to get his hands dirty and leave the business side behind him.

Mike’s interest in post frame building grew from the desire to be unique and think outside of the box. If you’ve got questions about post frame construction, give us a call at Gateway and ask for Mike.
